Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Wilco’s upbringing in a middle-class household ignited his entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. By twenty-two, he made his inaugural leap into real estate investment and entrepreneurship, establishing his first company. Shortly after his twenty-fifth birthday, Wilco assumed the role of councilor in a municipality, overseeing significant budgets in Land Use Management, Spatial Planning, and Finance. By his late twenties, he expanded his business portfolio, opening multiple branches and acquiring additional real estate ventures, cementing his status as a dedicated property investor and entrepreneur.
Despite his early success, a pivotal moment occurred as Wilco approached thirty when he realized life held more significance beyond material wealth. Embracing his passion for writing, he authored a comprehensive financial seminar encapsulating his triumphs and pitfalls. In 2018, he launched his inaugural God & Money Financial Seminar, followed by the publication of his first book, God & Geld, just months before South Africa’s national Covid lockdown. Offering insights into financial stewardship, the book resonated with audiences seeking practical guidance amidst economic uncertainties.
Since then, Wilco has authored another book and spearheaded various ventures, including his own publishing company, a business consultancy, an accounting firm, and a property investment corporation. Presently, he dedicates his time to consulting businesses on integrating ethical principles into their operations and coaching individuals seeking financial transformation. On weekends, Wilco conducts breakthrough financial seminars and delivers thought-provoking keynote presentations nationwide. Despite his public presence, he cherishes moments of solitude on the farm where he lives with his wife and their three children, devoting his free time to writing.
